Living with MS and Overweight.

Being overweight practically all my life was hard enough so when the doctor told me I had Multiple Sclerosis, I thought it had to be a mistake. I can't be heavyset AND have MS! People with MS walk funny or can't even walk; what am I gonna look like? Amazing, but that's what I thought about. Funny how time changes a person.

Lorena: Ocala, FL., United States; I'm a latina woman living with Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed back in April of 1998. I come from a very loving family full of love, laughter, acceptance and faith. For me, having MS hasn't changed my humorous character but I must admit, there are real challenging days. Originally from Brooklyn/Queens NY, a very loud and busy lifestyle, I now reside in a quiet and laid back town called Ocala in Florida. I've been here for a long time and it's home now for me. I adore all types of animals but love dogs and horses. I enjoy all types of music because I can appreciate it-I used to play my trumpet in a latino band, marching band and in a synchronized orchestra. That all seems so far away from my life now. Well..that's pretty much about me.
